Thursday Challenge – Animal (Pets,Wild,Herds,flocks,…)
I felt quite excited when I saw this small herd of sleek grey water buffalo and skinny white cows grazing in the paddock. This is not a wild buffalo but a domesticated water buffalo , a beautiful animal , family pet and provider.
A sleek beautiful animal
The water buffalo enjoys wading and wallowing in the water created by the heavy monsoon rains of recent days. This was the largest herd of water buffalo we saw on our trip.

Hi Mike, I just visited another post which had Ostrich and horses grazing together. Outside Melbourne I saw emus and cattle grazing. No end to co-existence in harmony in the animal world. Thanks for dropping by. Lyn

Those are a lot of buffaloes! That’s the asian specie, can co exist with herons and other animals.
Hi Maryann, Yes,the buffalo co-exist with egrets quite happily as the egret removes ticks and flies and consumes them. This benefits both species. Thanks for your comment. Lyn

Is this in the Philippines or Vietnam? I went there last year and I saw these water buffaloes or “carabaos” in Filipino language. They are really powerful creatures and useful in their farms.Lovely photos, I miss the place, might go back there next year! Thanks for the article!
